Thwaite is a small village of traditional stone built cottages near the head of the beautiful Swale Valley. It is on the Pennine Way and is surrounded by stunning walking country. The famed Buttertubs Pass links Swaledale and Upper Wensleydale at the bustling market town of Hawes, a distance of 6 miles. There is a licensed restaurant, bar/lounge and tea rooms at the Kearton Country Hotel in Thwaite and a village shop and pub at Muker, 1 mile away, bus route nearby. Thwaite is a lovely place to get away from it all!
